To balance the crowded sights in recent days I head towards Sisak.
Near Sisak is a nature park called Lonjsko Polje. Deserted and wet. The park headquarter is in Cigoc village. I find a man with maps and information and some trails and then manage to get lost on the second one and appear from the woods an hour later, all wet and dirty.
The village looks cool, with wooden houses. There's a guesthouse with eating option so I stay there and converse with the locals into the night.
A detour totally worth it I'd say.
