conference in Ithaca

Ithaca is not only a Greek island where Odysseus was born.
No need to learn the local language. Preparation consists of reading Baudrillard's America and Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev's blog about his visit to America in 1959.

This is definitely off the beaten path. Staying with a Burmese girl in Ithaca, presenting a so-called paper in a conference, participating in a home party, visiting a big library and watching movies.
The participants are nice. They know a lot. But it is still kind of pointless to practise a science that mostly tries to justify its existance. After I've confessed to Arina, a cool Russian girl, what I'm really doing, she says that I'm probably the only person in the room who has a real job. Indeed.
