There’s a light-skinned potbellied man in the breakfast room.
That’s something new.
I text my contact person about my intent to go to Mandalay and he answers that he’s at a funeral service but I may go ahead and he’ll call me tomorrow. I also notify the Tallinn University PhD student in Mandalay about my arrival. He’s supposed to be “a pleasant young man”. He takes a day off for me.
I go ask the hotel staff where I can get a bus ticket to Mandalay. Buying over internet seems complicated. I get it from them. They have a laminated card with time table, we pick a bus, they call the ticket seller, get dictated numbers what to write on the ticket and there it is. Very interactive service.
Overnight in the bus.
