No view in the morning.
Everything's white with pouring rain.
The plan B is to continue along the road until Meia Legua tunnel and then check out whether there is a footpath going over the mountains (plan A would have been walking towards Pico Ruivo).
The burnt landscape is convincing in its reproach. Rain is warm but gives no opportunity for taking pictures. So I just have to remember all these mountain silhouettes and trees appearing from fog and clouds.
We can spot no particular trail near the tunnel and it rains heavily. A burger helps us think and we end up taking a taxi to our accommodation in Funchal. The driver says that sun is shining in Porto Moniz. Here we can barely see the lights of the car in front of us.
A nice two room apartment is waiting for us. It takes some time to catch a pause in the rain but eventually I manage to make a short stroll along the nearby canals.
