the second day

Industrious restaurant workers switch on the music first thing in the morning.
We find breakfast around the corner at Spiro's. The menu is dusted off, a boy brings juice from the shop and goes looking for someone who would make an omelette. Four elderly men sit by the wall, each in his own table, and loudly discuss the world matters. Like how many spoonfuls of sugar is it right to put in the coffee.
Kalle gets some kind of deal with the boys downstairs and the music is turned a bit quieter. So when I sit inside with the front door open and the balcony door closed then I can see a few trees, hear European robins in the back garden and the music recedes into background noise. Not perfect but bearable.
In the afternoon we go for a walk and look at cars. A whole field full of them. Looks like they're hibernating. The sign on the rental company's door promises to be open every day from morning to evening. But it's closed. We get a car later in the internet and from somewhere else.
