We go check out how Ok
is doing.
It used to be a
glacier. There’s more snow than last time. Many flowers between the rocks, most
of them I don’t know. Except for tired dandelions. A golden plover inspects us
from behind a rock. Silence, behind us grim and motionless Hádegishnjúkur and Þórisjökull.
We walk around the crater but fail to find the memorial for the glacier.
On return we stop at a waterfall with many flowers and some butterflies. A small climb up shows another waterfall hidden in the canyon.
No relaxing in the hot tube behind the hotel because the pool is being renovated. That’s a dissapointment.
