As for today, I have slept 6 nights in the tent and 6 nights in a house.
The morning is cloudy and chilly. Swarms of midges and mosquitoes hover
over the trail. I walk along a row of small lakes that are connected by a
stream like pearls on a string. Up is a pass, filled with rocks.
It starts to rain. Water flows merrily over the trail or along the trail,
as seems more convenient. When the rocks end and I make some faster steps I
lose my balance on the wet grass. The fall is short (if you fall to the correct
side) and soft.
Lunch break at Gaskahytta. The sun comes out. Tattered birch trees
surround the hut. Some sort of bug. The trees can handle the attack for one
season but not for longer.
Next thing to do is to follow Altevatnet that is a very long lake. On the
other end is Innset, a summer house village. And Altevasshytta.
Today: 31.3 km.
