12th day, Dividalshytta–Vuomahytta

I leave the hut cleaner than it was before.
It’s mostly cloudy which is nice for a change. Not so hot. First some more descent. Big boulders strewn all over the place. Now there are pines instead of birches. The trail is pretty over-grown and wild.
A bridge over the river and climb up to a plateau with an impressive view over Anjavasselva. I collect two cigarette stubs. Weird ways to enjoy the nature, polluting it.
I move upstream to see what is there where all the water leaves with such a hurry. Winding trail, old trees. Some swamp. More mud. Birds. Hot. Mosquitoes.
Then the trail goes a bit up and over the mountainside. More wind, less bugs. After a while I reach the hut with impressive panorama windows and meet Tor again. Washing in the river and talking about literature.
Here also one has to pee under the friendly gaze of the king. When I ask Tor about it, he explains that it is an expression of sympathy and goes back to the times of WWII when the Germans considered the escaped king to be a traitor whose pictures were forbidden. The locals hid the pictures then to the one place the Germans never went, the dry toilets.
19.1 km today.
